MEANING
"there is a hushed beauty echoed in the melody of a waterfall, as water drops whisper to each other while they fall" ― bodhinku, whispering water
this is another impression whose meaning is really all about the hope of "her." the beautiful lady of my dreams. the one that i want to live a fairytale with for the rest of our lives together...written for her to read is every single quote of love in this and so many of the past months of blogs, i hope she sees and reads my words, i hope she is ready for me, i hope she finally comes out of my visions and dreams and she finds me as i find her one day, and we get lost and found in each others eyes for always...
"whispers" is a term defined as:
"softly spoken tones of voice using one's breath without one's vocal cords, especially for the sake of privacy."
"fall" is a term defined as:
"move downward, typically rapidly and freely, from a higher to a lower level"
"my whispers fall into her" is truly the deeper meaning behind this image...created from the romantic impression i get from this waterfall as it softly falls and falls and falls, whispering down and down and down...
i cannot wait to finally have her in my life. she is out there somewhere in this universe looking for me as i'm looking for her. we know each other deeply in our souls and have known each other since time began...her and i are this waterfall...
above us, the sun also rises. its light-rays glow down into us, warming me, illuminating my thoughts. my mouth opens and whispers fall like water from me into her awaiting ears, hydrating her soul with my nourishment, of hope, of love, of knowing we have each other... and we're falling and falling, slowly washing away our fears with each drop, transforming them into excitement bounding and dancing down and down...then, leveling out with calmer waters, flowing away into new adventures, new paths, together as one fluid being, whispering in beauty, while s-curves are made of smiles...
"my gift is my photography, and this image is for you...i hope it whispers my heartfelt feelings as they fall directly into you" ― bodhinku, your image
and here is another beyond beautiful song, read the lyrics and you will be able to connect this tune to my current feeling which are impossible to ignore...a song sung boldly with a pounding meaning very dear to my heart, vocalized so powerfully, yet softly, by a mega rock band in a metal ballad from the 1980s..: "when you came into my life" by the scorpions ...i sound old, but they just do not make songs like this anymore...(just click on any of words in theblue links to listen to the song)...
"you give me your smile, a piece of your heart. you give me the feel i've been looking for. you give me your soul, your innocent love. you are the one i've been waiting for, i've been waiting for. we're lost in a kiss, a moment in time. forever young, just forever, just forever in love...when you came into my life, it took my breath away because your love has found its way to my heart. you make me dream by the look in your eyes. you give me the feel i've been longing for. i wanna give you my soul, all my life because you are the one i've been waiting for. i've been waiting for so long. when you came into my life, it took my breath away and the world stopped turning around for your love...when you came into my life, it took my breath away, oh yeah. because your love has found its way to my heart, into my heart, just forever in love. when you came into my life, it took my breath away and the world stopped turning around for your love...when you came into my life, it took my breath away, oh yeah. because your love has found its way to my heart when you came into my life (in my life). when you came into my life, it took my breath away, oh yeah), and the world stopped turning around for your love. when you came into my life, it took my breath away, oh yeah, because your love has found its way to my heart, when you came into my life, yeah, yeah" ― the scorpions, when you came into my life
"the biggest gift i can give back to you is my photography, whispering the impression it wants you to feel" ― bodhinku, my gift
and now here are a few more quotes from bodhinku from past blogs to help add to the deeper meaning of this blog today...
"i'm aware of only one single undeniable truth about my being: that i am full of love...those things i love get every single drop of my passion, and when taken collectively, they create the waterfall that makes me live" ― bodhinku, truth
"in the delicate dance of the waterfall, falling is the most wonderful thing" ― bodhinku, falling
"like the waterfall, let things flow as they need to be, fall where they need to go...then listen to its rhythmic silence, and fall into its peaceful melody" ― bodhinku, fall into
"water pacifies the mind, the spirit, and the body...it soothes us, cleans us, refreshes us...we need it to survive, and there is something so calming and beautiful in the entrancing dance of water as it falls down a cascade, it is pure falling peace for our soul" ― bodhinku, falling peace
"live your own path, do not follow or copy the mainstream, be unique, be extra-ordinary, live like a waterfall falling up" ― bodhinku, backwards waterfall
"i am recharged by going out into nature and seeing water playfully creating nature's most beautiful moments, i am lucky to be able to capture them for other to see and share, i am lucky to have such a record of my beautiful memories of water, memories that make me live" ― bodhinku, water
"love, like water, pacifies the soul, the spirit, and the body, take a sip of its life, and live again" ― bodhinku, pacify
"there is something so peaceful and daintily beautiful in the entrancing movements of the waterfall, embracing gravity in a dance of love" ― bodhinku, daintily beautiful
"you know that pool of water at the bottom the cascade reminds me of you? deep, cool blue, and constantly refreshed, i sink down into it, i want to stay forever in that water" ― bodhinku, forever pool
"you are my waterfall music, i want to have your falling waters massage me in rhythm and cover every inch of me in melody" ― bodhinku, waterfall music

STORY BEHIND THIS IMPRESSION
"just because...sometimes we need to hear our love song to feel better, and smile just a little bit bigger, as we think of each other so strongly, whispering to each other without words. we listen to the song and feel the lyrics, i feel you, you feel me, we feel together."― bodhinku, our love song
pictured here is mossbrae falls in the shasta wilderness of northern california along the banks of the sacramento river...this is easily one of california's most breathtaking and delicately majestic waterfalls, and the name comes directly from the fact that this spring fed waterfall flows down a steep bank that is full of "moss" and grass alongside the river, and in scottish the word "brae" means steep bank or hillside...
"everyone needs a place where they can go to just ponder for a while. silence is important; it's the only time you can hear the whispering of truth" ― glenn beck
this past summer while taking a trip up to mount shasta to shoot wildflowers on the higher plateaus, my pup, besos, and i stopped off in dunsmuir which is along the route, right off the 5 freeway along the sacramento river. we parked in town and made the hike down into the river canyon and took another hike back (our second together now) along the railroad tracks to see the falls again in the early morning of june 10th, 2020 in hopes of catching some missy sunshine coming through the trees above around the falls
i know there is a legal controversy surrounding visiting the falls (see the history section below), and maybe at times i am a "rule-breaker", but i am also very careful and safe with my planned hikes and visits, especially ones with my doggie...i see so little danger in the hike along the tracks if common sense and caution is used...the trains are not moving at high speed, often either creeping as they are climbing up the incline, or braking down the long decline and going quite slow...and if you recognize their vibrations and listen for them, you have plenty of time to find a clear open area and await for the train to pass...but technically, you are hiking on private property owned by the union pacific railroad...
and i'm sorry, but these falls are so wonderfully unique, just too beautiful to pass up, especially if you get to experience them alone in quiet solitude without others around to spoil the serenity and mood...they literally whisper to you as they fall down the bank into the river below
and if you hike to them mid-week, in the early morning, you will have them all to yourself...my doggie and i got to have the glory of mossbrae's splendor before us all by ourselves for close to three hours before the hordes of people started to arrive at around 11am...and literally, tons of people were hiking in when we were hiking out, big groups, lots of loud people, lots of noise...
and the numbers of people visiting are becoming a bit concerning, and i'm sure my images of this place just add to people wanting to visit it (i'm conflicted over that one)...but my complaint is because so many people visit places and trash them, and mossbrae is no exception to the stupidity and laziness of thoughtless people...i carried out (again!) a nice bag of garbage left from other visitors from the past few days...mostly water bottles, and food wrappers, a couple batteries, and a single serving noodle bowl, thankfully no toilet paper or other nasty hygiene products...why do people always ruin beautiful places? sigh...
but in solitude, this is another one of those spots i could just sit, and listen to the flowing water, relax, breath and be so in love with nature...and that is what i do when i take pictures...and sometime i just stop taking pictures and sit and listen, and watch, and just flow into nature with all my senses...
water pacifies my mind, my spirit, and my body...it soothes me, cleans me, refreshes me...i need it to survive, and there is something so calming and beautiful in the entrancing dance of water as it falls down a cascade, it is pure falling peace for my soul...i need to be pacified, soothed and refreshed, i want to be entranced and dancing, full of life, love and positivity...i'm recharged by going out into nature and seeing water playfully creating nature's most beautiful moments, i'm lucky to be able to capture them for other to see and share, i'm lucky to have such a record of my beautiful memories of water, memories that make me live...btw, this waterfall pictured here is spring-fed, and it falls down into and feeds the sacramento river with its flow, and this helps to enliven the river ever so much, just as the things i love flow into me and help to enliven me with life...
and on this day, the light did not disappoint, nor did the beauty of the mossbrae...had a fabulous time...my dog got to run and play in the water, and besos and i got to share some lovely spiritual times together beside the falls soaking in the magic whispers...even got a few nice self portraits of him and i from that day as well...

HISTORY OF MOSSBRAE
"these falls are so wonderfully unique, just too beautiful to pass up, especially if you get to experience them alone in quiet solitude without others around to spoil the serenity and mood...they literally whisper to you as they fall down the bank into the river below" ― bodhinku, mossbrae
mossbrae falls is one of siskiyou county’s most scenic tourist attractions, tucked away alongside and behind the small town of dunsmuir just south of mount shasta. but you can’t actually get there legally. there's an unusual controversy surrounding this waterfall, which, since 2013 and until further notice, is officially closed to the public.
the train tracks in dunsmuir are lined with sharp stones, but you can see where hikers have flattened a narrow footpath on the way to mossbrae falls. as the trail winds through the hillside, the path disappears in places. if a train comes, as one or two always will, your options are to run to a safe open space (and there are plenty of these), press against the canyon wall, or jump into the sacramento river below. if walking along a dangerously active rail line isn’t enough to deter hikers, “no trespassing” signs are posted throughout the trail—a reminder that access to the falls is located on private property.
a ways down the tracks is mossbrae falls. the dunsmuir city manager brenda bains in 2014 remembers her first experience: "i went to the falls once and it was, i believe, two years ago, and it was the most beautiful experience of my life. it was almost spiritual in nature—i’ve never seen anything that beautiful."
dozens of small cascades fall from the springs above over a wide, moss-covered rock face, into a deep pool. large rocks on the bank offer a front row seat....approximately 50 feet (15 m) in height and 175 feet (53 m) wide, the falls are fed by springs that course down the canyon wall, and into the sacramento river, creating the effect of many waterfall streams, two of them especially large, falling into the river. the entire course of the falls is longer than 52 feet (16 m); however the upper cascades cannot be observed through flora that covers the mountainside. The bottom 50 feet (15 m) is a straight plunge into the river....
mossbrae falls has historically been a popular tourist attraction despite the risk. however, in recent years, a scenic photo on the dunsmuir visitor’s center website is accompanied by a warning that the waterfall isn’t actually legally accessible. while it has always been illegal to trespass on railroad tracks, brenda bains explains that things changed in the fall of 2011 when a woman was hit by a train as she hiked to the falls.
brenda bains: "she felt that she would be safe if she scrunched down and became very small, and she was hit by the step of the train. and she had a serious head injury, actually an orbital injury, of the brain."
the woman survived, but her injury alarmed officials at union pacific railroad. the railroad began issuing tickets to trespassers and those who park at the trailhead. this might prevent some hikers from making their way to mossbrae falls, but there are still many thousands who decide to risk it.
the city of dunsmuir has been working with the mount shasta trail association and union pacific for years trying to provide safe access to mossbrae falls. tom hesseldenz is a landscape architect who has been involved with the project since the beginning. he shares his vision for the proposed trail.
tom hesseldenz: "people would be able to pull right off the freeway at the hedge creek falls trailhead, and immediately have a great view of the river and mount shasta looking up the river canyon. and then, they would come to hedge creek falls, and then from there, maybe a half a mile or so to mossbrae falls."
there would be a handicap accessible trail that crosses the springs and turns into a boardwalk before coming to a bridge over the river. from there, visitors would be able to see mossbrae falls or continue to the beach. the problem is that the trail crosses a sliver of land owned by a religious group (really a cult) called the saint germain foundation. until recently, the foundation wasn’t willing to sell the land needed to build the trail.
negotiations with the foundation have been underway for several years. the city paid for an appraisal and offered market value, but the foundation declined, even after an outside organization teamed up with the city to increase the offer. dunsmuir city manager brenda bains says the foundation is now asking the city to pay for a second appraisal, which could cost between ten and twenty-thousand dollars.
brenda bains: "the city is unsure whether they want to invest that money to find out that any kind of offer would be turned down again."
it’s a really sensitive issue. a lot of people i tried to talk to about this declined to be interviewed for fear of fanning the flames—some even backed out after agreeing to an interview. the saint germain foundation declined to comment.
union pacific has a vested interest in building a safer way to get to mossbrae and keeping trespassers off the tracks. buck grochol, a manager at the railroad, is looking forward to making progress with the trail. "it seems to be dragging on. we’d like to do it as soon as possible but we don’t have a definite timeline," grochol said.
it could be a while before the public can safely and legally access mossbrae falls. until then, the falls will remain a remote and dangerous destination, experienced only by those willing to take the risk to see them.
***{most of the above words in this section, "HISTORY OF MOSSBRAE" were taken from an internet broadcast, "mossbrae: the forbidden falls of dunsmuir." published september 18, 2014 at 5:25pm pst on jefferson public radio}***
and of course, the above article is now 6 years old, and no progress what-so-ever has been made on creating a safer and legal way to access mossbrae falls...so what is an adventurous photographer and his doggie to do?
"she leaned over and said softly into my ear: i want you...her whisper thundered, exciting every single part of my body" ― bodhinku, whisper thundered
MORE QUOTES FOR EXTRA MEANING
my gift is my photography, and this image is for her, the one that i long to meet and share the rest of my life with, a life filled with never-ending kisses, hugs, romance, and love...i hope it whispers my heartfelt feelings as they fall directly into her, i hope she hears this wherever she is and finds me soon...just because sometimes we need to hear our love song to feel better, and smile just a little bit bigger, as we think of each other so strongly, whispering to each other without words. we listen to the song and feel the lyrics, i feel her, she feels me, we feel together...so here it is: "your song" by elton john ...(just click on any of words in the blue links to listen to the musical selection)....
"it's a little bit funny, this feeling inside. i'm not one of those who can easily hide. i don't have much money, but boy if i did, i'd buy a big house where we both could live...if i was a sculptor, but, but then again, who knows. or a man who makes potions on a traveling show. i know it's not much, but it's the best i can do. my gift is my song, and this one's for you. and you can tell everybody this is your song. it may be quite simple, but now that it's done, i hope you don't mind, i hope you don't mind that i put down in words: how wonderful life is, now you're in the world...i sat on the roof and kicked off the moss. well, a few of the verses, well, they've got me quite cros. but the sun's been quite kind while i wrote this song. it's for people like you that keep it turned on. so excuse me forgetting, but these things i do. you see, i've forgotten if they're green or they're blue. anyway, the thing is, what i really mean: yours are the sweetest eyes i've ever seen...and you can tell everybody this is your song. it may be quite simple, but now that it's done, i hope you don't mind, i hope you don't mind that i put down in words: how wonderful life is, now you're in the world...i hope you don't mind, i hope you don't mind that i put down in word: how wonderful life is, now you're in the world" ― elton john, your song
"the secret from the river is that there is no such thing as time. that the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains, everywhere and that the present only exists for it, not the shadow of the past nor the shadow of the future" ― gautama siddhartha buddha, sayings of buddha

"music is that of the streams refined and spiritualized. the deep booming notes of the falls are in it, the trills of rapids, the gurgling of margin eddies, the low whispering of level reaches, and the sweet tinkle of separate drops oozing from the ends of mosses and falling into tranquil pools" ― john muir, our national parks
“as long as i live, i'll hear waterfalls and birds and winds sing. i'll interpret the rocks, learn the language of flood, storm, and the avalanche. i'll acquaint myself with the glaciers and wild gardens, and get as near the heart of the world as i can" ― john muir, our national parks
"i know of no sculpture, painting, or music that exceeds the compelling spiritual command of the soaring shape of granite cliff and dome, of patina of light on rock and forest, and of the thunder and whispering of the falling, flowing waters. at first the colossal aspect may dominate; then we perceive and respond to the delicate and persuasive complex of nature" ― ansel adams, yosemite

and never hides treacherous whispers

"i often have wandered in deep contemplation, it seems that the mind runs wild when you're all alone. the way that it could be, the ways that it should be, things i'd do differently if i could do them again. i've always loved spring time, the passing of winter, the green of the new leaves and life going on. the promise of morning, the long days of summer. warm nights of loving her beneath the bright stars. i'm just an old cowboy from high colorado, too old to ride anymore, too blind to see. i sleep in the city now away from my mountains, away from the cabin we always called home. i dream i left there on an old palomino, whispering jesse rode right by my side. i long to hold her, to hear her soft breathing. the touch of her cool hands on my fevered brow...whispering jesse still rides in the mountains, still sings in the canyons, still lives in my heart" ― john denver, whispering jesse

"the dell was to be left in solitude among its dark, old trees, which, with their multitudinous tongues, would whisper long of what had passed there, and no mortal be the wiser. and the melancholy brook would add this other tale to the mystery with which its little heart was already overburdened, and whereof it still kept up a murmuring babble, with not a whit more cheerfulness of tone than for ages heretofore" ― nathaniel hawthorne
“nothing can be given or taken away; nothing increased or diminished. we stand on the same shore before the same mighty waterfall. the waterfall of love. there it is...in perpetuum. as much in a broken blossom, the sound of a wave, the swoop of a carrion bird. we move with eyes shut and ears stopped; we smash walls where doors are waiting to open to the touch; we grope for ladders, forgetting that we have wings; we pray as if god were deaf and blind, as if he were in a space. no wonder the angels in our midst are unrecognizable. one day it will be pleasant to remember these things” ― henry miller, stand still like the hummingbird

"said the little boy, 'sometimes i drop my spoon.'
said the old man, 'i do that too.'
the little boy whispered, 'i wet my pants.'

the old man nodded, 'so do i.'
'but worst of all,' said the boy, 'it seems
grown-ups don't pay attention to me.'
and he felt the warmth of a wrinkled old hand.
'i know what you mean,' said the little old man" ― shel silverstein
"all i do when we're apart is think about you, and all i do when we're together is panic. because every second feels so important. and because i'm so out of control, i can't help myself. i'm not even mine anymore, i'm yours, and what if you decide that you don't want me? how could you want me like i want you?...he was quiet. he wanted everything she'd just said to be the last thing he heard. he wanted to fall asleep with 'i want you' whispering in his ears" ― rainbow rowell, eleanor & park

“you wonder why you can’t see me,
sense me, feel me…?
when you are outpouring your emotion,
it is like me trying to climb up a waterfall
to get to you.
but if you are calm and have faith in me,
i can sail right over to you
“i run on the grass and moss covered landscape, my birds flying along side, and of, me. the thick fog caresses the hills and pours itself slowly, sensuously, down the gentle slopes. the twilight stars remind me: "time to dance.". the drums build, echo, reflect my beating heart. a waterfall appears. i like it...i think i will keep it. tree's sprout up. they have leaves that don't die when they change colour. the colours reflect my innocence and whimsy. i like them. i think i will keep them" ― cheri bauer, the spark (of a muse)
“the water represents your nonstop stream of consciousness, which consists mostly of “me, me, me” thoughts. mindfulness is the area behind the waterfall, which allows you to step out of the cascade and view your urges, impulses, and desires without getting caught up in it all” ― jeff warren, meditation for fidgety skeptics
“there's a hidden message in every waterfall. it says, if you are flexible, falling will not hurt you” ― mehmet murat ildan
"his beauty was hard to fix or to see, for he was always glimmering, flickering, melting, mixing, he was the shape of a shapeless flame, he was the eddying thread of needle-shapes in the shapeless mass of the waterfall. he was the invisible wind that hurried the clouds in billows and ribbons..."― a.s. byatt, ragnarok
i am lost in your eyes
i am lost in the chanting of birds
i flow myself with waterfalls
i fly with bluish clouds
i drowned with gold fishes
i was resting with the sea shells
i was lost- lost- lost
suddenly i open my eyes
still i found this world
so colourful and golden
i just feel my present moments
so close so close with me
i fall in love with them” ― ramesh kavdia
“unable to perceive the shape of you, i find you all around me. your presence fills my eyes with your love, it humbles my heart, for you are everywhere.” ― guillermo del toro, the shape of water
"dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. this is the trick. this is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. this is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. this is how magic is done. by hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it's a feather bed.” ― terence mckenna
“later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered
where does it hurt?
it answered
everywhere
everywhere
everywhere" ― warsan shire
“if a prisoner hadn't lived outside, he would not detest the dungeon. desiring knows there's satisfaction beyond this. straying maps the path. a secret freedom opens through a crevice you can barely see. your love of many things proves they're one. every separate stiff trunk and stem in the garden connects with nimble root hairs underground. so the heart keeps ignoring the waterfall and the key, but there is the one, guiding through all the desiring restlessness” ― jalaluddin rumi, the soul of ecstatic poems
"there is a place born of silence. a place where the whispers of the heart arise. there is a place where voices sing your beauty. a place where every breath carves your image in my soul." ― jalaluddin rumi, the essential rumi
"i will whisper secrets in your ears, just nod yes and be silent. a soul moon appeared in the path of my heart. how precious is this journey!" ― jalaluddin rumi, bridge to the soul
