"Those Eyes" by Bodhi Smith

our eyes glowing
these souls showing
this happiness flowing
love all knowing

just you and me
this love flows free
our eyes can see
we're meant to be

deep in those eyes
there are no lies
just love, no disguise
no ifs, ands, or whys
the universe in those eyes

MY THOUGHTS
I'll never get tired of looking into his eyes...those eyes just say it all for me ― Bodhi, Those Eyes

I've always loved eyes...

Eyes are literally windows of the soul, portals into the exact essence of who we are. If you look closely enough, you can really see another's spirit inside...And eyes come in so many different colours, each hue is absolutely fascinating in its own way: brown, blue, green, hazel, and heterochromic (like Besos' eyes)...

The eyes are the windows of the soul ― Leonardo Da Vinci

Besos is such a good looking doggie, with his unique one-of-a-kind markings from being a Blue Merle Australian Shepherd...but his true beauty is in his eyes, those eyes of his are just so mesmerizing, stunning, utterly beautiful...They say the eyes are the window to the soul, and I believe that...looking into those eyes, I see my soulmate--a universe of trust, devotion, and unconditional love...

Besos talks to me with those eyes. They tell me his mood, his love, his happiness...I can see when he is ornery and all crazy wound-up needing to run and play...I can see when he is hungry, or tired, or when I'm boring him...I can also see when he needs me, when he is feeling down, or not feeling well...when his eyes are glowing, I can see he is full of light and life, and I know he's healthy and happy...

The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness ― Matthew 6:22-24, The Bible

Eyes are an aphrodisiac: so sexy, memorizing, hypnotizing, mysterious, transfixing, enchanting, and just plain beautiful in their sheer perfection of form...to me, letting a lover look deeply into our eyes is the most personal and sensual thing we can show anyone, even more so than letting them see our naked body. This is exactly why I so often keep my own eyes as private as possible...

I believe eyes say so much without speaking a word. When our body language, lips, and mouth can all be so untruthful, our eyes do not lie...And for our fur babies, the eyes are one of the main ways we can connect and communicate with them...The eyes will always be my favorite part of any animal anatomy...and this is reason behind why I've focused on those eyes of his so specifically as the center of attention and name for this portrait of Besos...

Look at those eyes of yours. They're small, yet they behold the world ― Jalaluddin Rumi, Bridge To The Soul

"Eye" is defined by merriam-webster as:
1. the image forming organ of sight that is light sensitive and responsible for vision
2. any opening that resemble the shape of an eye
3. to see, look, glance, or focus upon
4. attention; notice; scrutiny

Eyes also have a symbolic meaning, representing psychic clairvoyance, enlightenment, omniscience, unlimited vision, point of view, and a gateway into the soul. other qualities that eyes are commonly associated with are: intelligence, light, vigilance, moral conscience, and truth...

The meaning behind the title of the image, "Those Eyes" is clearly simple: with his glowing eyes, Besos lets you see into him, who he is and what he's all about...I'll never get tired of looking into his eyes, those eyes just say it all for me...

When I look into THOSE eyes, and you look back into my eyes, there is no doubt, we are best friends forever. I love you with all my heart, all my soul, all of me ― Bodhi, Those Eyes

Mister Besos "Puppa" Halo Smith...born on July 3, 2018, he came into my world shortly after the Dude passed...and this little guy literally saved my life, I love him so much, and we have been devoted to each other, inseparable since I first held him in my arms and looked into his eyes on September 11, 2018" ― Bodhi & Besos

We're writing our own happy ending, one word at a time ― Bodhi, BFF

This song is performed by an alternative Canadian indie band out of Toronto, and it's their most recent release in 2023--and with it having the exact same name as my impression of Besos today, I cannot think of a better tune to begin with to extract extra meaning from this picture and my words here today ...  "Those Eyes" by New West. ... (just click on the blue links to listen to any of the songs)

When we're out in a crowd laughing loud
And nobody knows why
When we're lost at a club, getting drunk
And you give me that smile
Going home in the back of a car
And your hand touches mine
When we're done making love
And you look up and give me those eyes
'Cause all of the small things that you do
Are what remind me why I fell for you
And when we're apart, and I'm missing you
I close my eyes and all I see is you
And the small things you do
When you call me at night while you're out
Getting high with your friends (high with your friends)
Every "hi", every "bye", every "I love you" you've ever said
(You've ever said)
'Cause all of the small things that you do
Are what remind me why I fell for you
And when we're apart, and I'm missing you
I close my eyes and all I see is you
And the small things you do
When we're done making love
And you look up and give me those eyes
'Cause all of the small things that you do
Are what remind me why I fell for you
And when we're apart, and I'm missing you
I close my eyes and all I see is you
And the small things you do
All the small things you do

SOME MORE EYE-CATCHING TUNES
This next song is the newer release (January 2023) by the alternative garage rock band, The Arcs (a side project for Dan Auerbach, the lead singer of the band, The Black Keys), It has a sound that its a mixture of newwave and techno, a really modern vibe exudes from this music with its airy and wavy sound...the tune serves as a profound examination of what we share with the world with our eyes, and conversely, what we keep hidden in plain sight behind our eyes. The lyrics mull the many roadblocks in the way of honest communication, even especially in our closest relationships. Many of these sentiments are pulled from the group's first-hand experience losing their own musical brother gone too soon (drummer Richard Swift died in 2018). “There’s a lot of mystery to most people," explains Auerbach. "You can work with someone for years and there will be things about them that you never know. Everyone has parts of their story they might not want written"...  this is another great tune to connect music with some of the deeper meaning of my impression and blog today: "Eyez" by The Arcs. ... eyes, eyes, eyes, eyes, doo-dun-doo-doo-doo...years ago, once again for christmas you got all you ever wanted, everything forever, all except the loving. in the know, you just can't refuse it. you can't keep your love forever. cheatin' all your neighbors, cryin' hallelujah...eyes, you can't let 'em know. eyes, never wanna let 'em know...just like we do, candy coated nonsense. we can talk about the weather, cry about whatever. but do it all together, everything, everything for granted. it's like only you can love her, taken by your mother, who sold it to your father...eyes, you can't let 'em know. eyes, never wanna let 'em know. eyes, you can't let 'em know. eyes, never wanna let 'em know. eyes, eyes...it's been this way, been this way forever. well, at least until tomorrow when i come to see you cryin' hallelujah...eyes, you can't let 'em know. eyes, never wanna let 'em know. eyes, you can't let 'em know. eyes, never wanna let 'em know. eyes, eyes, eyes, eyes ― The Arcs, Eyez.

This next song, originally released close to 37 years ago in 1986, has a special place deep in my heart and my mind's eye. This tune was also used prominently in a now famous classic scene from the teen romance movie "Say Anything" (1989) when the lead character, Lloyd (played by John Cusack) serenades his girl, Diane (played by Ione Skye) by holding a boom box high above his head with it loudly playing movie clip from "Say Anything": "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel....and with the fact this song is so closely entitled to the name of my impression here, it's the perfect first accompaniment to connect music with some of the deeper meaning of my impression and blog today: "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel. ... (just click on any of the words in the powder blue links to listen to the tune and watch the video) ...

love, i get so lost sometimes. days pass and this emptiness fills my heart. when i want to run away, i drive off in my car. but whichever way i go, i come back to the place you are. all my instincts, they return. and the grand facade, so soon will burn. without a noise, without my pride, i reach out from the inside...in your eyes, the light, the heat. in your eyes, i am complete. in your eyes, i see the doorway to a thousand churches. in your eyes, the resolution of all the fruitless searches. in your eyes, i see the light and the heat. in your eyes. oh, i want to be that complete. i want to touch the light, the heat i see in your eyes..love, i don't like to see so much pain. so much wasted and this moment keeps slipping away. i get so tired of working so hard for our survival. i look to the time with you to keep me awake and alive. and all my instincts, they return. and the grand facade, so soon will burn. without a noise, without my pride, i reach out from the inside...in your eyes, the light, the heat. in your eyes, i am complete. in your eyes, i see the doorway to a thousand churches. in your eyes, the resolution of all the fruitless searches. in your eyes, i see the light and the heat. in your eyes. oh, i want to be that complete. i want to touch the light, the heat i see in your eyes, in your eyes, in your eyes, in your eyes... ― Peter Gabriel, In Your Eyes.

Btw, here is another perfect tune to listen to as you read on in my this new blog, this is such a powerful song in message and meaning, about reflecting on the things your eyes have seen (and not seen ) and regrets in this life, it has such beautiful lyrics and vocals... "Doctor My Eyes" by Jackson Browne. ...(just click on the song title, any of the words in powder blue, it's a link to the lyric video)...

doctor, my eyes have seen the years and the slow parade of fears without crying. now i want to understand, i have done all that i could to see the evil and the good without hiding. you must help me if you can, doctor, my eyes, tell me what is wrong. was i unwise to leave them open for so long? because i have wandered through this world and as each moment has unfurled, i've been waiting to awaken from these dreams. people go just where they will. i never noticed them until i got this feeling, that it's later than it seems...doctor, my eyes, tell me what you see. i hear their cries, just say if it's too late for me. doctor, my eyes, they cannot see the sky. is this the prize for having learned how not to cry? ― Jackson Browne, Doctor My Eyes.

There can be so many differences between soulmates from age, background, location, or education that their union can seem impossible. You hear the love song of your soulmate in a way which is impossible to describe and can be hard for others to understand. SPECIFICS ABOUT THIS PHOTO
You have my love until my last breath. There's just you, there's always been only you. Looking into those eyes of yours, I know, because something of this certainty comes but once in a lifetime ― Bodhi, Those Eyes

This portrait of Besos' eyes was taken in my driveway at my home in Fallbrook, CA on the afternoon of September 11, 2023---exactly five years to the day since I brought Besos home with me from Countryside Aussies in Escondido, CA. Besos was eight weeks old at the time, and as soon as I looked into those eyes of his, I knew he and I would be having a lifetime of adventures together in our future...

In my photography, I always use filters to create longer exposure effects, saturate colors naturally, and balance the light in my composition in-camera...I often use as many as four filters at time, and I always use at least one filter in my completed impressions...

And to get the effects and balance I was looking for in this composition, I used one ProgreyUSA Filter. along with the ProgreyUSA G-120Z Antarctic Magnetic Holder. to secure the filter to my Nikon D850 with a Nikon Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 lens. ...

I wish to openly thank my sponsors who have always supported me through both the good and bad times...for truly this portrait of Besos would not be possible without the use of my Induro PHQ3 Series 5-way Panhead with an Induro (now Benro) Stealth Carbon Fiber Tripod. in combination with any number of  ProgreyUSA Filters. which I use with every photo I take...

contemplate without thinking. be certain only in your uncertainty, content to be completely incomplete. stop the rush. slow down time. breathe and notice. slow down everything. let it all be. shut off the noise. hush. relax. seize this higher moment. reconnect. feel and sense what surrounds you. listen to all the colours of light whisper as they envelope you. see the melody and harmony that float about unnoticed. taste the solitude of all this wonderment. smell the beautiful silence. now discover your peaceful serenity. then, reach out and touch your faith with all your senses. this is my world. awaken! ― bodhi, my world

you were blessed with 84,600 seconds today, have you used one of them to say thank you? ― bodhi, blessed

I leave you today wishing that bright joy
and spiritual peace fill your life...
imploring you to make every moment count,
no matter what, always and forever,
