ABOUT THE IMPRESSION
"every approaching storm will eventually pass, and your one love will always remain...however, we each have to weather our own storms. and right now this is especially befitting in these crazy stormy times as we are all trying to find our own path through to the otherside. but remember, the storms pass. they always pass, always. and during the storm, we always have the one love inside each of us to help us, support us, be one with us, and let us see past the storm to sunnier days...  " ― bodhinku, storms will always pass
 
the impression which you see here is a single exposure composition...in my photography i always use filters to create longer exposure effects and to balance the light in my composition in camera...i often use as many as four filters at time, and i always use at least one filter...
 
for this exposure of imperial beach pier with an approaching pacific storm incoming, to get the effects and balance and saturation i was looking for, i used two filters...for this, i chose to use the magnetic 1.8nd progrey aurora filter (and progrey g-120z holder) to allow for a much longer exposure (6 stops) to blur the waves in the ocean as well as clouds in the sky a tad bit, making them softer, and allow for more saturation of the red/yellow in the pier lights and blues in the clouds and waves to be present in the image...plus in combination with the 0.9gnd progrey g120 aurora filter to help balance in-camera overall the image the way i envisioned it, as the sky was much more brighter, about 3 stops brighter than the rest of the darker parts, especially the darker shadows under the pier in the image composition...
