"falling peace" a new impression from bodhi smith
"water pacifies the mind, the spirit, and the body...it soothes us, cleans us, refreshes us...we need it to survive, and there is something so calming and beautiful in the entrancing dance of water as it falls down a cascade, it is pure falling peace for our soul" ― bodhinku, falling peace
"live your own path, do not follow or copy the mainstream, be unique, be extra-ordinary, live like a waterfall falling up" ― bodhinku, backwards waterfall
“the river is everywhere at once, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the rapids, in the sea, in the mountains, everywhere at once, and that there is only the present time for it, not the shadow of the past, not the shadow of the future.” ― hermann hesse, siddhartha
"i keep my gratitude in my smile, a glistening waterfall in the sun, gently splashing at that person, who made me happy for some reason" ― sanober khan, a thousand flamingos

MEANING
this is my newest photographic impression, captured in the shasta wilderness of northern california along the banks of the sacramento river...this is easily one of california's most breathtaking and delicately majestic waterfalls, mossbrae falls. the name comes from the fact that this spring fed waterfall flows down a steep bank that is full of moss and grass alongside the river, and in scottish the word brae means steep bank or hillside...
this is another one of those spots i could just sit, and listen to the flowing water, relax, breath and be so in love with nature...planning on revisiting this spot again next month in mid-april with my new puppy and begin new adventures on my new path with him...
water pacifies my mind, my spirit, and my body...it soothes me, cleans me, refreshes me...i need it to survive, and there is something so calming and beautiful in the entrancing dance of water as it falls down a cascade, it is pure falling peace for my soul...i need to be pacified, soothed and refreshed, i want to be entranced and dancing, full of life, love and positivity...i am recharged by going out into nature and seeing water playfully creating nature's most beautiful moments, i am lucky to be able to capture them for other to see and share, i am lucky to have such a record of my beautiful memories of water, memories that make me live...btw, this waterfall pictured here is spring-fed, and it falls down into and feeds the sacramento river with its flow, and this helps to enliven the river ever so much, just as the things i love flow into me and help to enliven me with life...
as always, i used at least one nd filter for this composition (made up of 8 images stitched together, each shot at 80mm)...nd filter was needed to soften the water flow and slow down time, and to also help oversaturate the colors and enhance the greens and blues with in the composition in-camera...and truly this impression would not be possible without the use of my trusty dolica tripod to keep all 8 images cleanly focused during each ultra-long exposure and aligned one frame to the next for an easier photomerge, in combination with the progreyusa filters which i use...for this image i used the new 10-stop 3.0nd progrey antarctica filter (if you have not tried this filter, you must put it on your list!)
“water is fluid, soft and yielding. but water will wear away rock, which is rigid and cannot yield...what is soft, is strong...be like water" ― lao tzu, tao te ching
“there's a hidden message in every waterfall. it says, if you are flexible, falling will not hurt you” ― mehmet murat ildan
“my mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.” ― mel brooks, the producers
“water that never moves, its fine for a little while. you can drink from it and it'll sustain you. but if it sits too long it goes bad. it grows stale. it becomes toxic. i need waves. i need waterfalls. i want rushing currents...” ― tahereh mafi, ignite me
“mother nature loves courage. dream the impossible dream and the she will lift you up. this is what all those teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. this is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. this is how magic is done. by hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it's a feather bed” ― terence mckenna, food of the gods
“if i say your voice is an amber waterfall in which i yearn to burn each day, if you eat my mouth like a mystical rose with powers of healing and damnation, if i confess that your body is the only civilization i long to experience…would it mean that we are close to knowing something about love?” ― aberjhani, visions of a skylark dressed in black
“nothing can be given or taken away; nothing increased or diminished. we stand on the same shore before the same mighty waterfall. the waterfall of love. there it is...in perpetuum. as much in a broken blossom, the sound of a wave, the swoop of a carrion bird. we move with eyes shut and ears stopped; we smash walls where doors are waiting to open to the touch; we grope for ladders, forgetting that we have wings; we pray as if god were deaf and blind, as if he were in a space. no wonder the angels in our midst are unrecognizable. one day it will be pleasant to remember these things” ― henry miller, stand still like the hummingbird
“if a prisoner hadn't lived outside, he would not detest the dungeon. desiring knows there's satisfaction beyond this. straying maps the path. a secret freedom opens through a crevice you can barely see. your love of many things proves they're one. every separate stiff trunk and stem in the garden connects with nimble root hairs underground. so the heart keeps ignoring the waterfall and the key, but there is the one, guiding through all the desiring restlessness” ― jalaluddin rumi, the soul of ecstatic poems
"like the waterfall, let things flow as they need to be, fall where they need to go...then listen to its rhythmic silence, and fall into its peaceful melody" ― bodhinku, fall into
"you are my waterfall music, i want to have your falling waters massage me in rhythm and cover every inch of me in melody" ― bodhinku, waterfall music

"in the delicate dance of the waterfall, falling is the most wonderful thing" ― bodhinku, falling
"contemplate without thinking. stop the world. slow down everything. shut off the noise. relax. seize this moment. reconnect. feel and sense what surrounds you. listen to all the colors of light that envelope you. see the melody and harmony that floats about unnoticed. taste the solitude of all this wonderment. smell the beautiful silence within your peaceful serenity. then, reach out and touch your faith. this is my world. awaken." ― bodhinku, my world
above all else as always, i hope this message and image find you well.
