no one
can possibly
survive as an island,
we all need that someone
when we're feeling all alone,
feeling so damn lonely needing
just an ear, a shoulder, or a bridge
spanning over our troubled water
without any cause or question
removing disconnections
plugging us back in
reconnecting us
recharging us
with love
MY THOUGHTS
sometimes we all need a special someone, that one person, that one soul. someone to lean on. someone's shoulder to cry upon. someone to be a true friend without question. someone to listen and really hear you. someone to always count on when you feel forsaken. someone to love you implicitly. someone to be the bridge over your troubled water...and sometimes we need to be that special someone for that special someone ― bodhi, bridge over troubled water
this is the only song i'm including in my blog today...this tune was originally released way back in 1970 by paul simon and art garfunkel. and since then, many covers of this timeless classic have been made, but the original still holds true as the best of them all in my humble opinion. it's a song about being there for someone else, being there for each other eternally, no matter what the cost, or the trouble, or the passage of time. you are always there for each other when they need you most... the connection and bond between you can never be broken ever, the bridge connecting you both can never be burned by anything, or for any reason because of all the selfless love that is shared, pure love...this song is about being there for someone else, always and forever, no matter what--and when you're together as one, something of this kind of certainty comes but once in a lifetime...my impression today gives off those exact sentiments, same as this song, plus together they share the same title...if i wrote nothing in this blog today and only put up these beautiful lyrics, it would still be perfect: "bridge over troubled water" by simon and garfunkel.
when you're weary, feeling small, when tears are in your eyes, i'll dry them all. i'm on your side, when times get rough and friends just can't be found. like a bridge over troubled water, i will lay me down. like a bridge over troubled water, i will lay me down...when you're down and out, when you're on the street, when evening falls so hard, i will comfort you. i'll take your part when darkness comes and pain is all around. like a bridge over troubled water, i will lay me down. like a bridge over troubled water, i will lay me down...sail on silver girl, sail on by. your time has come to shine, all your dreams are on their way, see how they shine. oh, if you need a friend, i'm sailing right behind. like a bridge over troubled water, i will ease your mind. like a bridge over troubled water, i will ease your mind ― simon & garfunkel, bridge over troubled water.

A COUPLE MORE QUOTES
there was a boy, that boy with the real love letters written in his name...he was meant to be loved. so, there was this girl, that girl who travelled the world to find that boy with the love letters written in his name. she knew she would give him the love that no one else knew how to give. she would love him for all the people that had withdrawn that love from him. inside he was that little boy just wanting to be loved for who he truly is. she saw him, the real him...the real little boy with sparkling blue eyes filled with excitement and love, she recognized him immediately. he was the one who wrote the love letters in his name. he was the one who wrote those letters upon the stars of her soul before she was born. they were reunited. across the world, across the universe, across time, eternally bridged together...their souls are filled with love, together they are love. that boy and this girl. they are always and forever love" ― dm-b & dbs
you get me, there's no other way to put it. when i am a whirlwind of a person, a mess of bad moods and even worse ideas, you move in slow, wrap each of those arms around me and in an instant, i am understood. it's magic. when i am blind of all else, i see the way through you ― beau taplin, the way
love never loses its way home, it’s within us all along; a shining beacon rooted deeply on our shores. it’s always flowing to us and inside of us. unyielding in its power, unwavering in its belief and undying in its devotion, it never dies. our task is to believe in it and not lose faith when darkness rises and it becomes hard to see. it’s still there, with the power to breathe life and fire into once stale lungs. our greatest challenge is to embrace the whole of who we are and love ourselves completely enough to never stop believing in our worthiness of the love we dream of. when we truly embody the knowledge that love is something real that we are born deserving, it’s easier to have faith in its existence and to not sacrifice ourselves or settle for any less. it becomes easier to know deep in our hearts that love can never lose its way home to us, because we are love and this is all an unfolding path of love. that the real love that is meant for us will always find a way and that trusting in it is part of believing in love...and so, onward we go continuing our eternal journey deciphering the language of love. may we travel well ― c. ara campbell
it's clear to me now that i have been moving toward you and you toward me for a long time, connected by bridges with in the universe. though neither of us was aware of the other before we met, there was a kind of mindless certainty bumming blithely along beneath our ignorance that ensured we would come together. like two solitary birds flying the great prairies by celestial reckoning, all of these years and lifetimes we have been moving toward one another ― robert kincaid, the bridges of madison county
i don't like feeling sorry for myself. that's not who i am. and most of the time, i don't feel that way. instead, i am grateful for having at least found you. we could have flashed by one another like two pieces of cosmic dust....god or the universe or whatever one chooses to label the great systems of balance and order does not recognize earth-time. to the universe, four days is no different than four billion light years. i try to keep that in mind....but, i am, after all, a man. and all the philosophic rationalizations i can conjure up do not keep me from wanting you, every day, every moment, the merciless wail of time, of time i can never spend with you, deep within my head. i love you, profoundly and completely. and i always will ― robert kincaid, the bridges of madison county
SPECIFICS ABOUT THIS PHOTO
always and forever and no matter what--something of this kind of certainty comes but once in a lifetime ― bodhi, the bond
though it's entirely possible to see the milky way and stars at this aspect and at this location on this beach in santa cruz, california (natural bridges state beach) in late september on a dark moonless night, this impression is a composite made from two different photos. two completely separate photos taken at two different locations, captured years and years apart from each other...but i felt the trails of light, and the colours of both pictures fit together perfectly like two beautiful pieces in a puzzle...
the image of the sea arch is from the beach in natural bridges state beach just north of the city of santa cruz, california taken close to ten years ago on july 27, 2013 (f/11@33mm for 142secs, iso-100)...
this actually once was a natural bridge connected to the mainland with three arches spanning out quite far into the ocean. now, of the three original arches, only the middle one pictured here in my photo remains. the outermost arch fell sometime in 1905 or 1906. and the inner arch collapsed during a storm on the night of january 10, 1980 leaving behind what you see here, the last remaining arch that used to be a longer natural bridge made of three arches...and now this middle arch is in danger of collapsing as well due to erosion by wind and waves in the natural cycle of things by the ocean. visitors were formerly permitted to climb up, walk and even drive on the bridges. now the arch is closed to public access...

the image of the stars and the clouds was taken at the end of a remote dirt road in the rolling hills of the palouse farmlands in western washington state on a windless morning about a half hour before the sunrise at 4:44am on june 8th, 2021 (f'/1.4@24mm for 13secs, iso-1600)...in fact, some might notice that this is the same sky that occurred naturally in my fan favourite image "split"...
these two separate photos were then merged together into one picture using layers in adobe photoshop cc...
contemplate without thinking. be certain only in your uncertainty, content to be completely incomplete. stop the rush. slow down time. breathe and notice. slow down everything. let it all be. shut off the noise. hush. relax. seize this higher moment. reconnect. feel and sense what surrounds you. listen to all the colours of light whisper as they envelope you. see the melody and harmony that float about unnoticed. taste the solitude of all this wonderment. smell the beautiful silence. now discover your peaceful serenity. then, reach out and touch your faith with all your senses. this is my world. awaken! ― bodhi, my world
leave you today wishing that bright joy
and spiritual peace fill your life...
imploring you to make every moment count,
no matter what, always and forever,
for that is the only thing that truly matters...
and above all else,
i hope this message and impression find you well.
namaste,
bodhi
