"amanecer bonito" my brand new impression and blog...
"take another shot of courage...wonder why the right words never come, you just get numb...it's another tequila sunrise, this old world still looks the same, another frame" ― the eagles, tequila sunrise
"rise up this morning, smiled with the rising sun. three little birds pitch by my doorstep singing sweet songs of melodies pure and true, saying, this is my message to you: singing don't worry about a thing, because every little thing gonna be alright...singing don't worry (don't worry) about a thing, because every little thing gonna be alright" ― bob marley, three little birds
"every day the sun rises out of low word-clouds into burning silence" ― jalaluddin rumi
"if i had a wish that i could wish for you, i'd make a wish for sunshine for all the while...sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy. sunshine in my eyes can make me cry. sunshine on the water looks so lovely. sunshine almost all the time makes me high" ― john denver, sunshine on my shoulders
"i’m beginning to recognise that real happiness isn’t something large and looming on the horizon ahead, like a grand landscape photograph. but it's instead something small, numerous and already here. a deep breath. the smile of someone you love. a decent breakfast. a beautiful sunrise. playing frisbee with your doggie. the warm sunset. a goodnight kiss... your little everyday joys all lined up in a row" ― beau taplin (with additions by bodhinku), remedy
this song is very upbeat and happy, something i always find myself connecting to with the music of the beatles. and that positivity reflects the message of the song with the message of my impression here and blog, quite perfectly matching it. and this classical song from the 1960s manages at the same time to bring you good vibes while listening to it as you view my picture here, as they both speak volumes about hope and faith in the beauty of life, and in new beginnings...i like to listen to this song at the start of a new day as a great mood boost filled with hope of a refreshing new beginning: "here comes the sun" by the beatles
(just click on any of words in the blue links to listen to any of the songs)...
"here comes the sun, doo-doo-doo-doo, here comes the sun, and i say it's all right. little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter. little darling, it feels like years since it's been here. here comes the sun, doo-doo-doo-doo, here comes the sun, and i say it's all right...little darling, the smiles returning to the faces. little darling, it seems like years since it's been here...here comes the sun, doo-doo-doo-doo, here comes the sun, and i say it's all right...sun, sun, sun, here it comes. sun, sun, sun, here it comes. sun, sun, sun, here it comes. sun, sun, sun, here it comes. sun, sun, sun, here it comes...little darling, i feel that ice is slowly melting. little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear. here comes the sun, doo-doo-doo-doo, here comes the sun, and I say it's all right. here comes the sun, doo-doo-doo-doo, here comes the sun. it's all right. it's all right" ― the beatles, here comes the sun
"listen to the silent wisdom in the sound of the sun rising above the horizon. the sun alone gives life to this earth, to our world. without the sun, we would not be here. so be silent like the sun. listen, and understand. we are lucky to have the sun shine on us. we are lucky to be alive. embrace that simple fact. embrace the sunrise. and live today like maybe there is not going to be a tomorrow...and then when the sun sets only to rise right on schedule in the morning, yet again, be thankful for having one more day to be alive" ― bodhinku, embrace the sunrise
MEANING
"sometimes, when we just look at nature and breathe, we often feel excited or unstoppable, and that is how we should also see new beginnings. we should feel good about starting over, like the dawn of a new day breaking, being refreshed. we should never let anything stop us from following our visions and taking the path to our dreams at sunrise" ― bodhinku, beautiful sunrise
"amanecer bonito" is spanish for beautiful sunrise...and these words in Spanish seem more lyrical and beautiful than their english counterparts when said aloud...
i've always been more of a morning person and i love sunrises better than sunsets...i've always been much more excited to start a day than to end one...
and sunrises have more pastels in them, are much less bold, being softer with more blues and violets and less yellows than their evening counterparts....
that first look was all it took, she was rising to start my day, and i was in love with the breathless silence of the sun hovering over the water, glowing red, the color of love...sometimes the first thing you see in the morning is the most beautiful thing you will see all day...
and i so much long for that day, someday, one day when i can wake up next to the beautiful glowing body and radiant smile of a special lady, taking my breath away...a deeply enlightened soul who i love equally as much as she loves me...
a woman always to me so beautiful both inside and out, who truthfully forever wants me there laying next to her as the sun rises and shines for as many days as we have breaths in our lungs...
a lady who puts me at the top of her list of life priorities in the same position where i have her on my list: as the single most important thing in my life...never too busy or preoccupied or unavailable, never overlooked or taken for granted...always appreciated, always the first look and first thing i get to see, embrace, and love every morning...
i can only hope that she is out there somewhere, and keep calling to her in my dreams...i've faith she really exists and is also looking for me hoping to enjoy the same beautiful forever sunrises together one day, no more lonely mornings...
but until my one day, i have the beautiful sun as it rises each morning to radiate me along with the love of my doggie at my side to keep me warm inside and keep me smiling on the outside...
life is no way perfect, but life is pretty damn good!
more music you can listen to as you read on with my blog. this is another favorite song of mine, one most people might have never heard before, "beautiful day" by ziggy marley...this song is very poignant to this image, as well as very soothing at the same time and easy on the ears as you read along...
"i take a look into the sky, because the world is not so pretty. free myself from worries so i can see: it's just a beautiful day, it's just a beautiful day! you could be sad, but i rather you not be. don't dwell on the negative, just the positivity. and it's a beautiful day, it's just a beautiful day...we're always trying to satisfy these wants and needs. take you some time for that inner peace. when your eyes are open, you'll see things differently. there is so much gloom hiding the reality: it's just a beautiful day, yeah, it's just a beautiful day!! take a look into the sky, wake up, take a look into the sky, keep your head up high, take a look into the sky. i take a look into the sky, because the world is not so pretty, free myself from worries so i can see: it's just a beautiful day!! i could be sad, but you rather me not be. don't dwell on the negative, just the positivity. and it's a beautiful day, and it's a beautiful day!!! we're always trying to satisfy these wants and needs. take you some time for that inner peace. when our eyes are open, we'll see things differently. there's so much gloom hiding the reality: it's just a beautiful day, a beautiful day!!! take a look into the sky. wake up. take a look into the sky. look in the sky, keep your head up high. it's just a beautiful day, i know it's a beautiful day. it's just a beautiful day, i know it's a beautiful day...no one can take that away, it's just a beautiful day. i know it's a beautiful day. don't you feel no way, it's just a beautiful day!" ― ziggy marley, beautiful day
"i love sunrises better than sunsets...i've always been much more excited to start a day than to end one" ― bodhinku, beautiful sunrise
STORY BEHIND THIS IMPRESSION
"that first look was all it took, she was rising to start my day, and i was in love with the breathless silence of the sun hovering over the water, glowing red, the color of love" ― bodhinku, beautiful sunrise
if you have ever been in the waters off the north shore of the gulf of mexico (florida, alabama, mississippi) you will know about the massive shelf with sand bars extending out into the water from the beach long distances...
i took this impression wading out waist-deep into the gulf of mexico about 500 feet from shore (where besos was safely laying next to my camera bag with all my gear)...
this impression amazingly enough was not my primary focus, i was positioned so far out in the gulf on this morning with my tripod anchored into the sand underwater, all so i could capture long exposures up close of wooden pier ruins looking out to sea at high tide...someday in the near future you will get to see these stunning impressions as well...
so, this photo here before you now was the product of an afterthought, once the sun rose and i looked over my shoulder and the gorgeous scene took my breath away!
hope you enjoy it!
btw, i did pay a painful price while standing out in these warm waters for over two hours taking pictures...i was stung twice by two different jellyfish...the first time in my life i've ever had the displeasure of being stung by a jellyfish, and unlucky me i got a double dose...
they're not pleasant creatures to come in contact with, or even brush up against, their touch hurts like hell and feels like an combo electrocuting bumble bee sting...both got me right behind my knees on each leg, ouchy!
and unfortunately after the shock of the first jellyfish sting, i dropped my remote shutter release into the salt water, frying it, destroying it, ending it's life...but i always carry backups since this piece of camera equipment is so vital to my style of impressionist photography....
"letting go of what we knew is so hard, so difficult...but being refreshed by a new beginning is nothing short of magica" ― bodhinku, refreshed again
an instrumental piece from a band who never does instrumentals...a beautiful rendition of modern rock that has the profound feeling of a colorful sunrise, deeply touching and fulfilling, the soul of soft pastel colors can be felt through the notes of this tune...this musical piece is both powerful and delicate at the same time...just a wow, just a wow... "sunrise" by coldplay ... (just click on any of the words in the blue links to listen to the musical selection)....
"to my surprise and my delight, i saw a sunrise. i saw a sunlight. i am nothing in the dark. and the clouds burst to show the daylight. ooh, and the sun will shine, yeah, on this heart of mine. ooh, and i realize who cannot live without, who come apart without it...on a hilltop, on the sky rise. like a first born child on a full day. on a full flight defeat darkness. breaking the daylight, ooh, and the sun will shine, yeah, on this heart of mine. ooh, and i realize who cannot live without, who come apart without daylight, slowly breaking through the daylight (slowly breaking through the daylight)..." ― coldplay, daylight
"be the celebrators, celebrate! already there is too much—the flowers have bloomed, the birds are singing, the sun is there in the sky—celebrate it! you are breathing and you are alive and you have consciousness, celebrate it!" ― osho, awareness: the key to living in balance
"nature speaks to me as if i were her beloved son...the rising sun tells me: shine like me, go beyond yourself today.... listen" ― paulo coelho, adultery
as an inspirational writer, and visionary author, and founder of "the goddess circle" website, c. ara campbell really strikes words to print that are now so very profoundly poignant and meaningful...her following quote here just fills me with reflective thoughts:
"i wonder if you can seek asylum somewhere from the energies of the sun? ...i give up....dropping my guard i give in; i don’t need the shields anymore, not where i’m going....where i tread forward, to the place of dancing openly with the unspoken as it makes its way into the light, i just don’t need all the masks. they would be unwelcome in the glaring brilliance of truth. the dress code for this party is bare, raw and naked...come what may, this is when i shall come undone" ― c. ara campbell
"and you said,
"never forget me,"
as if the coast
could forget the ocean
or the lung
could forget the breath
or the earth
could forget the sun" ― beau taplin
"no matter how hard you stare into muddy water, you will not see the sun" ― jalaluddin rumi, the essential rum

ABOUT THIS IMPRESSION
taken at 6:20am on august 5th, 2021, this sunrise impression consists of two exposures taken consecutively in the same frame and merged together using layers in adobe photoshop...
one shorter exposure for the sun and clouds (f/2.8@200mm for 1/20second, iso-64), and one long exposure for the abandoned pier and the water (f/11@200mm for 111seconds, iso-64)
and to get the effects and balance i was looking for in both exposures of this composition, i used two progreyusa filters...
first, a 3.0 nd progrey antarctica filter to bring the light in the image down 10 stops and permit for the long 1 minute and 51 second exposure which in turn creates this dreamy effect with motion blur smoothing out totally all of the waves and naturally saturating all the blues, reds, and purples in the image...
combined with the second filter, a 0.9 reverse gnd progrey aurora filter to help balance in-camera overall the image the way i envisioned it...in this case, to stop down the much brighter light in the sky right at the horizon level an extra three stops, brighter from the post-dawn light with the sun shining through a marine layer near the ocean's surface...
i wish to openly thank my sponsors who have always supported me through both the good and bad times...for truly this multi-frame merged long exposure impression would not be possible without the use of my faithful induro phq3 series 5-way panhead with tripod, in combination with the progreyusa filters which i use with every photo i take...
"if nothing else...if i open my eyes, if i cry, if i think, if i sigh, if i giggle, if i dance, if i love, if i breathe, then i have lived a full days worth of life...nothing is wasted, nothing" ― bodhinku, if nothing else
"i do not want you to just be into my photography, instead, i'd much rather you take a journey into my pictures, and feel the impression i have created, feel it with all your senses" ― bodhinku, into my photography
"contemplate without thinking. be certain only in your uncertainty. stop the world. slow down everything. let it all be. shut off the noise. relax. seize this moment. reconnect. feel and sense what surrounds you. listen to all the colors of light whisper as they envelope you. see the melody and harmony that float about unnoticed. taste the solitude of all this wonderment. smell the beautiful silence. now discover your peaceful serenity. then, reach out and touch your faith with all your senses. this is my world. awaken!" ― bodhinku, my world
i leave you today wishing that bright joy
and spiritual peace fill your life...
imploring you to make every moment count,
no matter what, always and forever,
for that is the only thing that truly matters...
and above all else,
i hope this message and impression find you well.
namaste,
bodhi
