Simply, A Door
"Simply, A Door" is a new release from BODHI SMITH. I hope you "simply adore" my new image here...
"i simply adore her, she is my universe, like a billion stars lighting up my sky with the pathway to heaven, i am but just a simple passage trying to find my way to her...i am simply a door" ― bodhinku
We are travelers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment. It is a little parenthesis in eternity.” ― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

The star image was taken before the sea door image in this composition, and two different lenses were used at different focal lengths so that i could get more of the beach scene composed into the image...and with this being a photo merge of two separate images taken about 1.75 hours apart, a stable and sturdy tripod with a pan-head mount was an absolute necessity for this composition in order to keep the camera still for the two long exposures, especially the second one at 7 minutes and also help keep the images as best aligned as possible from one exposure to the next. For this I used a Dolica 70" Carbon Fiber tripod....for me, this shot would never have been possible without my friends Daniel and April at Dolica Tripods.
“Turn her into stars and form a constellation in her image. Her face will make the heavens so beautiful that the world will adore her, fall in love with the night, and forget about the garish sun.” ― William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet
The title of the image, "Simply, A Door" is a play on words, because pictured is the Keyhole Arch Sea Door at Pfeiffer Beach, but what I truly "Simply Adore" is the Milky Way...I adore the milky Way...I have been obsessed with staring at her beauty for these past couple of years. I am amazed and fascinated by how beautiful she is, no matter what position in the sky or location she is found. And i am further obsessed in trying to create photographic impressions of her to show the world just how much i am in love with everything about her...she is the most beautiful thing my eyes have ever witnessed, glowing and lighting up my sky like nothing ever has before, or ever will again. She speaks to me with her silence, so much clearer than any mere mortal words with her thoughts permeating into my own. I love being with her all night long, just humbled by her grace and majesty, so magical and mystical. as she blinks at me with a billions eyes I simple breathe and my spirit is wrapped up into the whispers of her sighs, and i exhale her love...i simply adore her. All of her.
"if your love for me was a star in the sky, my love for you would be the Milky Way, glowing alive with billions of you inside me" ― bodhinku
“lovers alone wear starlight.” ― e.e. cummings
“We sit in silence and watch the stars, I suppose because there are no words, not in all the languages on earth, that can properly describe the feeling of being in love. And perhaps those little burning lights out there in the dark, are the closest we come to something that does.” ― Beau Taplin
Pfeiffer Beach is located in the middle of the Big Sur coastline of California. With it being only a couple hours from San Francisco and only a few hours from Southern California, It is a very crowded beach in the summer, as thousands of people all have the same idea to come to Big Sur and cool off from the hot temperatures inland...but this beach become serene at night, as they close the parking lot to traffic at dusk, but you can still park on the PCH-1 or in the state campground and hike in, and you will have the beach more or less to yourself if you are there in the wee-hours of the morning pre-dawn (unless you run into other quirky star photographers such as myself).
“There are worlds in you, I adore and have fallen in love with every one.” ― Beau Taplin
“In the sea of love, I melt like salt, Faith, Doubt - they both dissolve. A star is opening in my heart, the universe turn in it.” ― Jalaluddin Rumi
"Life is very simple. Just sometimes put your head away, just sometimes look with no clouds in the eyes...just look...just feel...just listen. Lie down on the beach and listen to the roar of the ocean, feel the sand, the coolness of it, or look at the stars, and let that silence penetrate you. Or look at the dark night and let that velvety darkness surround you, envelop you, dissolve you. This is the way of the simple heart.” ― Osho
"Stop the world. Slow down everything. Shut off the noise. Seize this moment. Reconnect. Reflect. Feel and sense what surrounds you. Listen to all the colors of light that envelope you. See the melody and harmony that floats about unnoticed. Taste the solitude of all this wonderment. Smell the beautiful silence within your peaceful serenity. Illuminate. Then, reach out and touch your faith. This is my world." ― bodhinku
As always, I hope this message and image find you well.
Namaste ― Bodhi
